The advantage of this corn grits lies in the careful selection of corn varieties and a special (unique) grinding technology, which allows to obtain a high content of grain germ in the final product.

This porridge is a bright yellow, rather small grain. Thanks to the delicate texture and neutral aroma of the finished porridge, it can serve as an excellent side dish, an independent dish for breakfast or dessert. It is baked, fried, boiled, while adding many different products.

Corn porridge is a source of vitamins (high concentration of vitamin A, vitamin C and vitamin E) and minerals. In sufficient doses are present: iron, thiamine (involved in the metabolism of carbohydrates and is responsible for the health of the nervous system), zinc, niacin, lysine, tryptophan, folic acid, pantothenic acid and selenium.

Niacin deficiency leads to the development of pellagra, a severe form of vitamin deficiency characterized by diarrhea, dementia, and dermatitis.

For the prevention of such an unpleasant disease, especially for people with poor nutrition, doctors recommend diversifying the diet with corn porridge.

The presence of folic acid and vitamin B12 in corn porridge is beneficial for anemic patients, which is confirmed by scientific studies.

COOKING METHOD

Pour corn grits with cold water, cook stirring all the time, add raisins, salt, honey to taste. Serving on the table, sprinkle with cranberries mashed with sugar.

This porridge can be served cold, having previously decomposed into molds, after it has cooled down, put out of the molds into plates.
